Series: Let Us Pray
Topic: Prayer Hands
Date: Sep 12, 2021
Opening [Pambungad]
Napakahalaga to build a genuine relationship with your members.
3. Kamustahin ang kanilang mga naging nakaraang lingo – any highlights or challenges.
4. Kamustahin kung nagawa ba nila ang application last week
5. Kamustahin kung meron bang answered prayers mula sa inyong mga ipinanalangin.
Rewind [Balikan ang Napakinggan]
I. HOW DO WE USUALLY PRAY?
· FOLDED HANDS
· CLASPED HANDS
· SHACKLED HANDS
‘It is recommended to pray in a position which reflects the disposition you desire your soul to have. The position of the hands is symbolic of the position of the heart.’
II. WHAT THE BIBLE SAYS IS THE IMPORTANCE OF LIFTING OUR HANDS IN PRAYER?
A. A REPLACEMENT FOR SACRIFICE
O Lord, I call upon you; hasten to me! Give ear to my voice when I call to you! Let my prayer be counted as incense before you, and the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice!
Psalm 141: 1 - 2
1. A desire in His Presence
2. An offering with pleasing aroma
B. A REQUEST FOR SALVATION
“Arise, cry out in the night, at the beginning of the night watches! Pour out your heart like water before the presence of the Lord! Lift your hands to him for the lives of your children, who faint for hunger at the head of every street.”
Lamentations 2: 19
1. A call for direction
2. A desire for provisions
3. A power of healing
C. A RATIONALE FOR SUCCESS
Whenever Moses held up his hand, Israel prevailed, and whenever he lowered his hand, Amalek prevailed.
Exodues 17: 11
1. An indication of faithfulness
2. A result of victory
III. CONCLUSION
Now when Solomon had finished praying this entire prayer and petition to the LORD, he got up before the altar of the LORD, where he had been kneeling with his hands spread out toward heaven. And he stood and blessed the whole assembly of Israel in a loud voice, saying: Blessed be the LORD, who has given rest to His people Israel according to all that He promised. Not one word has failed of all the good promises He made through His servant Moses.
1 Kings 8: 54 – 56
Reflect [Magnilay-nilay]
Bakit sa tingin mo nahihiya / napipigilan tayo to LIFT OUR HANDS to God, especially when praying?
Sa pagkakaintindi mo, how can lifting our hands in prayer be a way para ipakita na gusto natin mapunta sa presensya ng Diyos? (Note to leader: Some practical examples—paano nagpapakarga ang baby, or even ang pagtataas natin ng kamay when singing in church)
